Since West Central Initiative’s founding in 1986, we’ve been a strategic partner and collaborator with our communities to help bring their ideas to life. During those three decades, we’ve witnessed the power of bold partnerships: those that leave behind the divides like political parties, school colors, or economic sectors and instead focus on improving the quality of life for all. To work side by side on projects that make our communities better is the epitome of neighborliness.
We believe a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable world starts here in west central Minnesota.
The global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are based on the premise that a healthy, sustainable planet is one where all people belong and can live together in peace and prosperity. These interrelated goals are an urgent call for action by all, from individuals to nationwide. An important principle of the goals is to ensure that “no one will be left behind.”
In addition, we believe that our communities are already achieving success and can be “measured up” on this international scale. We desire to showcase successful initiatives of west central Minnesota so they may be replicated across the globe.
We would also like to acknowledge that our “Maps and Measures” pages are still incomplete. We will continue to populate the dashboard with available data sets as we discover and verify them.
