Goal 13: Climate Action

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

In June of 2022, in partnership paleBLUEdot, LLC., we began to develop climate-planning tools for west central Minnesota.

Read all about our progress on this first-ever regional plan in Minnesota.

Every month, we produce a newsletter featuring people and initiatives in our region that are focused on climate action.

You can subscribe today and read past blog posts.

Through Safe Routes to School and other partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, we lift up transportation alternatives. When we reduce the number of miles any single vehicle takes, we reduce our carbon emissions as a region.

Through Resilient Community Grants, we provide grants to organizations working to support gender equity.

We support community funds in their pursuit of their local and global goals.

  • Learn what climate scientists predict for our region.
  • Consume less imported meat by finding local sources and connections.
  • Consider replacing your high maintenance grass with a fescue or bee-friendly mix.
  • Bike, walk, take public transportation, or carpool whenever you can.
  • Support and utilize clean energy.
