DESCRIPTION:Run4Rural is our 1 ½ day public leadership training program designed for people interested in growing and strengthening their local communities through elected office and other forms of public leadership. This nonpartisan training will be useful for existing and emerging rural leaders and people active in their community whether or not they have decided to run for office. \nMoorhead Training: May 3 & 4 at the Hjemkomst Center  \nTraining sessions will take place on Friday afternoon and all day on Saturday. The training is free for anyone who hasn’t filed to run for office. DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, May 7\, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. \nWednesday\, May 8\, 2024\, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. \nThis two-day Conscious Discipline Training is open to any Early Care and Education professional in west central Minnesota. \nConscious Discipline is a life-approach\, social\, and emotional development program teaching adults the ability to recognize and regulate their own emotions\, with the hope to mirror their behaviors for the children in their classroom or care setting. This evidence-based approach has proven to help with children’s behaviors\, relationship-building\, and overall well-being. For more information about Conscious Discipline\, visit consciousdiscipline.com \nWe highly encourage everyone to attend BOTH days\, regardless of your past experience with Conscious Discipline. Our primary trainer\, Anne Hoff\, will organize the first day\, allowing new participants to step in without experience. Those who have past experience with Conscious Discipline will be refreshed on terms\, procedures\, and format. \nMay 8 Class Options: \nRage & Anger—Incidents of anger and rage are on the uptick nationwide\, and those in the field of education are tasked with managing yet another layer of challenges as a result. Join us in an exploration of anger and rage that will change how you see and handle all forms of upset. Learn about the different forms of anger\, including the specific form that is intensifying due to today’s high-stress\, high-speed environment. Discover strategies that empower you to respond in ways that deescalate rather than escalate\, actionable plans for establishing a Rage Prevention and Intervention Program\, and foundational components for creating a Calming And Recovery Environment (C.A.R.E.). \nInfant & Toddler Care Development—Conscious Discipline Infant/Toddler course is taught by certified trainer Laura Abbe and provides caregivers\, educators\, mental health professionals\, and families with the relationship-based competencies necessary to give our youngest children the best possible start in life. Learn how to create a strong foundation for optimal brain development\, mental health\, resilience\, and social-emotional development. \nTraining Materials: \n\nDay 1 Overview:  Product: The NEW Conscious Discipline Book – Expanded & Updated – Conscious Discipline\nDay 2 Rage & Anger:  Product: Managing Emotional Mayhem © – Conscious Discipline\nDay 2 Infant & Toddler:  Product: Baby Doll Circle Time (1st Edition) – Conscious Discipline\n\nWest Central Initiative secured grant funding to provide this training free of cost.  However\, we do ask participants to purchase the books that correspond with the class they select.
